Had all the subframe and suspension bits shot blasted and i then painted them with epoxy Had to get a little creative to paint them Building the subframe back togther
Next was to build it back and have it on wheels. Shell was at another unit with a little more room And rolling
Had the interior also done, went with Mk5 Golf interlagos fabric on the centres with black saude Before Couple interior bits i did myself
Tailgate plinth lock delete Hated the look of the tailgate springs that had to go Can't avoid an RS photo these sat in the loft for a few years Still have the A8 Winter wheels and the G60 Splits to finish off Had some rear popout windows made quite hard to get hold of but worth it. These are no an electic popout switch desided manual is to much work. the switch
Front Brakes and Lines. went a bit OCD, with Porsche Brembos with 312 discs its mega tight behind 16s Made some braided line also Electric Pas pump
Had a go at doing my own Westy front bumper which turned out alright but sadly had to cut up a rear jetta small bumper And on the car with new chrome inserts
Did away with the mk2 door handles went for MX5 handles try and clean up the look. Had bought some smoothed doors but didnt like the idea of not having a handle to get in the car. The amount of filler they used And the Duckbill Originally the plan was to have the tank on the underside but it made the exhaust situation really tricky so opted for in the boot which i have also covered in interlagos fabric. How i had mapped out the tank and exhaught before In the boot now with the filler pipe also in the boot. To run the tank with external fuel pump meant i needed main pump and a lift pump to supply the main pump, drew up the serge tank at work got someone to weld the bits for me, went with a walbro 255 for the main pump and a Bosch external pump from an Audi for supply.
Excellent work., loving the interior and attention to detail. Can I ask if you just used normal body filler on the smooth boot plinth and bumper, thanks.
I used plastic flexible filler on the bumper and just normal body filler on the plinth but if you have reinforced the bumper great with no flex you can get away with normal filler

Blimey! Every time you see them they’re mega price. now to find some hinges! Thanks a lot[/QUOTE] if you find the hinges, let us know!
What you need is 106 or 206 Popout hinges plenty at the scrap yard, thats what i used and they fit perfect, tho i then changed the closing hinge to electric popouts might actually have a set of standard for both of you cheeky vid https://www.instagram.com/p/B5dg25fHfIn/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
So those are electric units from a 106/206 then? having the electric activated ones is pretty sweet, nice modding! If you have a set of parts that would be ace. Would also be good to compile a parts list for anyone looking to do this.
