Pretty sure I have a spare diagnostic port bracket, one broke on the polo so I grabbed 3 at scrapyard as knew would be of use for the conversion, two ways to mount it from memory. I'll have a look Friday if need one.

When it blows up i'll change to something a bit more modern. I bought all the parts required for a conversion a few years back off a friend who gathered all the bits then went another route. so just rolling with it for now

Theres a place near Haynes museum that are good, quoted me 70 to do the bolster on my old mgzr a few years ago, which I thought was reasonable.
Always used to be a guy in Langport but think he retired, same with company near cossington.
I got quoted 400 to retrim the rear seat only last year up here near Halifax. So just went and bought a mk2 rear leather seat instead.

thanks again to @dodgy for the bracket to fit my little lower engine cover thing. I've had to cut the bracket a bit to allow for the rad pipe but thats all ok

so this weeks plan is to attack the wheel arch under seal and get it masked up and painted with the new Schutz. once thats done and the wings are back on, i can put the bumper back on and free up a bit more space.

all is well, the thread i linked was indeed the cause of the handbrake light being on. push the float up and hey presto, normal functionality is restored! hurrah
