Assume it's on a MK2 by the PAS pump?
Looks like it is the dim/dip wiring that should be disconnected due to issues it can cause.

There is one each side and part of the lights loom so I don't think part of the packet of polos capacitor thing.

Is it to do with headlight adjustment mechanism motors? Got it on mine, think both sides.
Not the demonic polo tube, that's a different connector.

That is what I was thinking. We need to tidy the headlight loom big time and if we can get rid of unnecessary bits all the better.
I wonder where it goes back to? Fusebox presumably.

Not sure Phil, presumably, or to a plug for a switch somewhere inside?

yup, the plug on the inside is either a 2 pin white spade plug or on runout spec its a 2 pin red timer plug. either way it has 2x red/blue and 2x brown wires that go off to either side, the yellow wire taps to the back of the headlight H4 plug

So, as the seller in one of those eBay links claims... it's plug'n'play if you've the bits pictured and correct existing wiring?

Most euro MK2 have the engine bay section from factory, only the early ones don't. To get it to work you need the dash switch and the short section of loom between it and the fusebox/lighting loom plug mentioned. It's not too hard to get since in Germany it was required by law from around 90ish

Cheers - Definitely have the motors and a switch some where, though don't think there's the short loom with them. Looks straight forward enough to possibly fabricate, might even have a stab at it some day.

The hardest bit is the plug, can get away with mini spades short term. Lots of others in the VW range use the same switch plugs, MK1 golf, Rocco, corrado think T4 usually see a couple on eBay.de
