Hello, planning to upgrade the 239mm brakes to 280mm brakes . Its pretty hard to find g60 hubs bearing and etc.Can I use the hub bearing housing from golf mk3 16v on my post 87 4 stud hubs mk2 hubs ?
mk3 gti no, as those are 5 stud with offset ball joint and different offset for the brake carrier mounts. there are lots ov VAg models which have the parts you need. corrado, passat b3/4, higher non-gti mk3/cabrio/vento, caddy van, polo saloon and estate (not hatch) seat ibiza, toledo and cordoba etc etc. basically if its 4 stud with 256mm or larger brakes it has what you need, except for polo hatch and lupo/arosa
I bought 280mm calipers and carriers from mk3 16v(50$+-) , Ive read that I can use them on G60 hub housing with G60 disc and pads without any problems. Is it true or I need to do some mods?
G60 or ibiza cupra 280mm discs with mk3 gti 280mm calipers is the set up I had on my caddy mk2 under 15 inch wheels
I had G60’s on Mk2 16v hubs, with G60 discs and whatever paid is needed to not have to run spacers to clear 15” RA’s
yes the mk3 pre-96 280mm calipers and carriers are the same fitment as G60 so will bolt right up no problem. the mounts for the brakes are further outward on the the 5 stud bearing carrier so the disc is a lot flatter than the 4 stud version thats all
