I wanna get a lupo tdi for the misses and remap it to 110bhp 188lb/ft but she wants a KA whats the score with that....?
tell me about it. been told the engine is pants and the brakes are shocking i want a side project lupo tdi[:^(]
lupo, they look better, go better, will do better MPG. the KA is crazy you will see the fuel gauge drop in front of your eyes! GF gets well under 300 from hers and my little 1.1 mk1 will return 300 struggle to pull along at 40 in fifth or so the GF says
i tried a lupo out. well impressed, pulled like a train. could proper feel the turbo kicking in. 65mpg combined, 46 tax for 6 months, group 4 insurance, cool to look at, surprisingly big interior, feels more like a golf to drive, good brakes and handling. nice to knoe someone who has one and can give a proper description of what they think of them
You cant get TDI lupos anywhere...I searched for a 2nd hand one last year and No Stealer could locate one! Clearly people dont sell em once they have them
Can't beleive you need to ask that question Chris My mate had a brand newKaas a courtesy car while her Clio was being fixed, and bearing in mind this is coming from a girl who owns a Clio, she said the Ka was the biggest pile of sh*t she had ever driven! Edited by: RichardDarrenB
My Mother in laws struggles up hills with 2 people in it. Now I remember my Mk3 struggling up hills along that dangerous road nr Buxton but My Mk2 didnt. However The KA struggles around town hills! Edited by: Dub Dave
KA??? They are horrible cars! My mate has one, its feels cold, tacky and really noisey in the cabin! The 1.3 is really rough, and un-economical! The lupo tdi however, was very economical (if not ragged) and was very swift for a 1.4 TDI. The Lupo revo's will really go some with excellent MPG, plus you'll probably get more back when you come to sell it!
sister has a Ka and believe me, i tried to talk her out of it, its one of the higher spec ones.. and its horrible it just looks so cheap inside (even with leather) the doorcards break me, they've done it in such a way that you can see bits of painted metal.. why is beyond me it looks terrible, the seats are like sitting on stools, theres less space in the back than my mates supra (anyone whos been in the back of one of them knows what i mean) its just... tacky and best of all its got about as much power as a toaster.. maybe less
even though you are always gonna get biased answers on a vw forum....they're all right, the KA is utter cr*p. its a 1982 fiesta underneath. oh...and rain water is channeled straight into the ecu, which doesn't unplug from the wiring loom apparantely
I had to deliver KA's over the summer in a temp job. They really are appalling. Perhaps not quite as bad as a Suzuki swift or a Perodua Kelisa, but still very bad. In fact, I'd rather have a pushbike than a KA.
We had a Ford KA knocking around the office a few years back when one of the Audi's was in the body shop and they're great fun to drive you just hammer them everywhere, weighs sod all, wheel in each corner. Would I buy one myself? with real money? no way, as above the quality is appalling, and the engine's a CVH from the early 80's but for a hire car grand prix they're great fun. I imagine the Lupo's better put together but very very boring.
i say all that about how bad ka's are, but for all i know lupo's could be worse, i have never been in/driven a lupo
Big fan of KA's on here then!!! I personally haven't ever driven either but I know which one i'd rather have on looks..... (and a small hint, its not the KA!!!!)
The Ka is the biggest pile of donkey sh*te in the world ever. Feels cheap, is noisy, poorly build, brakes are total crap and the engines are a joke. I'd genuinly rather have a 50 Mk1 1100 Fiesta than one of those piles of turd
