    Hi all.
Fix one problem. Find some more.
Got blue smoke coming from exhaust.

I’ve check pvc system. Was gunked up,just in the hockey puck tho. Cleaned that out.
I’ve checked intercooler pipes and they are wet with oil.
Dipped my finger down into the intercooler and feels like a fair amount of oil in there.
I’ll try get it off this week to see how much and Empty it.
Are these two things related? Do I have two issues here?
Could blocked pvc valve cause turbo seals to fail?
I’ve compression checked. All cylinders read 125psi.
Doesn’t seem to be using much oil.
Any ideas on what to do next other than clean it all up and keep eye on it?
    Any input much appreciated
    Thanks

  2. Blue smoke is usually oil burning.

    Yes, definitely burning oil unfortunately.

i guess I’m wondering if a bad/clogged pcv valve could could excess oil into the intercooler, causing my blue smoke.

Turbo seals leaking comes to mind my 1.8T A3 did this after I sold it to a mates wife how put a huge amount of Kms on it ,turbo was very worn and started smoking until it had to replaced.

I got the intercooler off. There wasn’t as much oil in there as I thought. Tipped it up and let it sit for a while and just a dribble has come out. Rinsed it out with petrol. I will clean all the pipes up to help keep eye on it.
Hoping the turbo is okay and it was a faulty/ clogged pcv.

Does the car typically do round town commutes, or under load with some, ahem, interludes of spirited driving?

    Sorry I missed your reply,
It does do a mix of driving. I had been sat for a little while.
I believe it’s been cured, although I’ve not taken it on the road yet as I’ve been sorting other things
Hoping it was the puck valve.
I’ve also installed a catch can that might help prevent blockages.
