Measuring crank shells

    I’m just going to scrap this engine before I spend any money. What I wanted to be a cheap throw in rods has got really expensive really quickly

    Sam, any mechanic mates you could show the crank to? Sometimes the camera exaggates the lines on the journals.

    Sadly not, only my dad who is 100+ miles away during lockdown.

    i don’t even know if we have any engine machine shops near me

    Old guys here in Romania would wrap sandpaper on the journal and a shoe lace over and pull on the ends.[eek] But that was on Dacia 1310.
    Many dont even measure oil clearance today.

    I’ve seen that on the interwebs. We’ll see. I’ve not nothing to lose so I’m going to try a few different things
