Mk2 golf 1.3 (MH ENGINE) engine swap

Hi guys, new to club gti. I’m looking to change my engine in my mk2 1.3, does anyone know what I’d need to do the conversion, or if there is any other conversions that people have in mind that are easy to do NOT VR6 or 1.8T I like carb engines, probably going bike carbs once engine is in and done.

You'll need to decide what engine first. any of the "big blocks" ie 1.8 gti and above will need a different engine loom, exhaust , gearbox, mounts etc, for starters .

 

anything that came in a mk2 polo , mk2 golf , mk3 golf will fit easily

 

I’ve been persuaded to go 1.8t AUG engine, been quoted 2k if I supply just the engine? Is this a good deal or does anyone know someone close to West Sussex (south of England) many thanks for your help

 

Doesn't sound too bad, for a roll in, roll out ready to go and MOT build .
