P slot centre cap colour?

Discussion in 'General Chat' started by Daniel schofield, Mar 11, 2021.

  1. Hi people, I’m looking for ideas for the best colour to paint the centre caps on my freshly lathed mk2 P slot wheels. Obviously they’ve come back fresh black with the alloy face but naturally the original centre caps don’t match now. Anyone had experience with this before as I’ll be spraying them nyself

Personally I’d get a set machined and then diamond cut.

  3. Yeah someone else has suggested this but ideally I want to keep the original parts on the car.

I don’t think you’ll ever get the plastic to match the diamond cut, I may be wrong though

Porsche karminrot. They would look snazzy.
Or get some turned up, or black to match the slots, or body colour coded.

  6. Not thought of the body colour route. Not keen on the black. I’m thinking it’s either pea can experiment, paint wheels to match caps or colour code them alpine white.

This is where you need some mdf circles to sample colour.
Poundland silver wheel paint matched the original paint on the mk4 alloys I have perfectly, anthracite may even look ok with them.
