power steering for mk1 golf

  1. does any one know of any other route to power steering for a mk1 golf(rhd)other than the expensive tsr kit, thanks

    don't know much about it but I believe the TSR kit is the rack from a Nissan Bluebird.

  4. thanks, I have messured a rack from a skoda felicia, it doesn't seem a million miles away anybody else got any ideas?

    Im sure you could prbably botch in most racks, provided that its from a similarly sized car.
    Im sure that the TSR rack is the one that fits the best with the least fuss enabling the most markup.

    IIRC there's a Mitubishi Colt from '95? which fits pretty well with a few brackets moved. Speak to the chaps doing that mid-engined Audi V8 Polo as they've done it already......
    Cost them about 100, rather than the 1000 that TSR charge..... [8(]
