Trance is still about, you just gotta know where to look for it I recently went down to The Opera House in Bourenemouth for Slinky classics, it was awesome; some real classic trance and house tunes.
did you go? I wanted too, had loads of old slinky mates from 2002 that were going but i missed it. Downloaded Rob Tisera's radio show which played his set from that night and it was pretty decent stuff. Went to a slinky classics night down in pompey and it was pants

Yes, I went to Slinky when it was in Skateville and it was pants.. maybe it was the same one?! i couldnt decide whether or not it was just the venue that wasnt so good? - and the clientele!

bit of both, plus never really pulled the crowds or had the atmosphere. Opera House is where its at - best atmosphere I have ever experienced (including the major festivals too)
