Hi guys I've been looking around for some 15" rims and found some I like but they are 8j et30.
My arches are rolled but not pulled and I have 16"7j e25 on at the moment. I was thinking 195/50's
for a bit of stretch could I get away with it?

Also have 280mm brakes but a little search saids there'll fit with 15's

The 15`s will fit over your brakes, and should fill the arches nicely with 8j, What style you going for?

Hi buddy I'm looking at axe ex8 I found them yesterday and like the look of them. A bit Jdm and have a nice concave face and they come in six or nine different colours. I'm thinking of getting matt grey
    Only 305 quid.

Et 30 won't clear your rear beam in that width without spacers. Mine are 15x8j et 25 and I had next to no clearance, another 5mm closer and it'll defo rub. I run 10mm spacers on the rear now which fills out the rear nicely. 50 series profile is too high as well. You'll want 45's

Didn't really think about the width inside was thinking more of arch clearance.
I'll have to look how close mine are to the beam I suppose it would be half inch a side more in width. Also didn't want 45's because they'd look to small.

50 profile will scrub like mad unless you have standard height suspension (which will look awful) I've ran this setup up on my mk2 for years now with an 15x8j wheel and 195 45 tyres. It's the only way they'll fit and still drive without issues or a really high ride height

This is mine. Loads of tyre with a 45 profile

A 50 profile will look huge

    Another vote for 195/45s.

Heres mine on 15"x8J ET 25 with 45s and a 60-65mm drop. No work needed on the front arches, but needed a little fettle of the rear lips to stop scrub over large bumps/compressions or with rear passengers.

Hmm they all look good but mines not going to be as low as you guys. I'll have to see what they look like on 50's and 45's as I can get free tires to try out. How modded are your arches any scrubbing with 10mm spacers?

Go for the free 45 profile tyres no contest.
Run some 17" Monza GTI alloys (225/45/17 tyres) in the summer which are 7:5j rather than the standard CrossX wheels 7j width. (The CrossX alloys are my winters now)
Just that small width change made all the difference to the looks/stance of my Jetta and quite mean look.
45's would look really good on 8j wheels.

I haven't cut any of the rear arches away, just dressed them out slightly under the plastic, the fronts are heavily cut away though as per g60 wings, no scrubbing at all even being that low but I have fine tuned mine over many months, trimming, hammering, adjusting ride height etc so that it's ok as daily driver and I can drive it as hard as I want. Even if it was higher, I still don't think 50's would be ok, it's amazing how much more tyre it is

    Sidewall height of a 195/50 is 97.5mm. A 195/45 is 87.75mm.

Nearly 10mm extra height is big difference indeed...

I have upgraded my suspension with coilovers and I'm thinking of putting r15 7j et25 on front and r15 8j et20 on rear. Tires will be 165/50/r15 on front (7j) wheels and 185/45/r15 on rear (8j) wheels. Will this kind of set up clear my rear beam or should i think about spacers ?
