radiator fans

    Hi guys my radiator fans dont seem to be coming on even when ac on, changed rad temp switch and control module if i bypass the rad switch they come on , any ideas cheers.

    check fuses 5 and 25 on the fusebox in the dash, also look at the funny fuses in the carrier on top of the battery as well.

    theres a set of standard blade fuses in here also one of them is for the radiator fan thermoswitch, though if the fans run when you bridge the switch this tells you that fuse is fine at least.

    also when you jump the red wire on thermoswitch to the red/white then red/yellow does the fan run on slow then fast speed?

    sorry for the delay havnt had chance to look at it until now bypassed switch and fan runs on slow speed with ignition off and swap wire and turn ignition onn comes on fast speed . the radiator fan switch is only about 5 months old replaced it when first got the car any ideas

    The rad fan switch is easy to test. The +12v comes in to teminal 3.
    Between terminal 3 and terminal 2 (low speed) should be open circuit until the water temp is about 95 drgrees C.
    Between terminal 3 and terminal 1 (fast speed) should be open circuit until the water temp is about 105 degrees C.

    yes tested it fans run but slow speed not coming on even when ac turned on cheers

    hmm very odd. I take it aircon works fine otherwise?

    with the red looped to red/white on the fan switch to jump fan on slow speed can you check the red/white wire in pin 2 of the big 4 pin plug on the fan control module, you should see 12v here
