It has been a long time since updating on Club GTI since the photo bucket scandal. I have chopped and changed with some many incarnations could not make my mind up until while selling parts I was contacted by a chap from Poland who was going through the same make your mind up scenario. Cut to the chase Piston and Conrods as exchange for Engine with some parts. Need to figure out uploading photo's then I can continue. This little baby was delivered to my by Marius,It also came with engine loom, ecu,Billet vacuum delete plate, and but SAI delete plates. I was happy and so was he. Now I could get this idea out of my Head into Project Lupo. Several emails to Issam (iabed industries) and billet goodies started coming through the post.
Its a N.A 2.5 for the united states, its port injected, its similar to FSI and TTRS but has smaller 33 mm valves ( FSI 34 mm)
Been spending to much time on Facebook and to be honest I was doing Club Gti via Facebook but it's not the same so without further delay I will take you through the updates. I have to say a big thank you to Gary French of GDF his fabrication skills has got this build where it is today.
Once Gary was happy with how the engine and gearbox sat in the car as well as floor clearance the next step of the build could commence.
Wow that is some impressive fabrication work getting that engine / gearbox combo in there and a scarily big chunk out of that chassis leg
Now that engine and box has their space in the car, next port of call was to Steve Stav of SAS Autoworks who was left with the job of building the exhaust system including tubular manifold and boost pipes.
Overtime, bonus and sell project parts I don't need anymore helps. Plus can't take money to the grave so might as well spend it
Will awaiting wiring progress other parts of the build needed doing. Dashboard got a makeover from Banbury flocking.
