Hi - I did a search but couldn't see anything recent....

please could anyone advise a decent quality make of coolant hose for the MK1 1.8, as I should probably replace all of mine.

    Meyle?
    Topran?
    a million others....

I would just get a Samco set but they seem very expensive, and more importantly there's no stock, so I'd have to wait until March...

    Thanks!

I've just put all meyle on my mk2. Quality seems good, all fit perfectly and look original.
    I avoid anything topran

Choices are becoming far more limited these days - good chance Febi Bilstein may also be manufacturing them and generally their stuff is OK.

Always favoured Gates stuff, there were 30+ year old pipes on the 205 that are indistinguishable from new after a clean up.

Having said that went down that route for the MK2 and while quality is still up there two of the radiator pipes were a poor fit in that one didn't reach far enough and the other had a different profile so didn't sit in the correct place in the engine bay / got in the way of the dip stick.

Murrys Direct were doing complete sets of Meyle, depending on your engine type. Took all the guess work out of what to get and very reasonably priced... fitted perfectly / quality seems on a par with Gates too.

Never used Gates myself but might give them a go in the future based on your feedback.
