Question 16V inlet manifold

    Im getting confused which inlet is for which type? im seeing a lot of contradictions

    pic 1 is for KR and pic 2 is for PL?

    Could be wrong but I think they're both the same, just that one of them has the throttle body still attached?

    The diameter of the inlet tubes should be different (?) 1 should be larger and the other one smaller

    Ok well the manifold on my 16V KR doesn't have the circular bit on it like picture 2 but it does seem to be the same diameter pipes as picture 2.

    KR should be a 50mm PL 42mm

    It's got wrong manifold on then as Gary says the 16v have the big 50mm runners (necked in the middle to allow spark plug changes).

    I might have 50mm top half available.

    iirc kr up to 90 are 50mm then after that switched to the pl version

    Mine was a 91 and still had 50mm RJ

    EU CIS-E PL engine has 42 mm runners.
    EU/UK CIS KR engine has 50 mm runners.

    Contradictions come about when folks write ramdon opinions onine without actually measuring parts or referencing the components back to the OE.

    The early 16v mk2 had a 42mm intake too, Ihad one on previous to GVK mk2 D880 VVO

    Not sure on crossover year tbh. I used to sell all the 50mm I could get hold of to a company in the USA about 20 years ago! Reet little earner lol.
