Organised club drive with lunch and stuff, all very pleasant.
Celtic’s 2.0ST riddled with rust, such a shame.

1989 328GTS absolutely gorgeous and original. Owner of 18 years.

The epitome of everything that was bad about British cars, beige with brown vinyl roof and brown velour interior. It even had rust on flat surfaces, how.??

Rather nice BMW 1602 next to a freshly restored series one. First drive out since it was finished and it didn’t put a foot wrong.

And finally, the only car to break down out of about 20. Nothing major, just spewed the contents of its coolant reservoir everywhere
It’s a very nice car though.

Wasn’t today, was a couple of weeks ago but we drove dads stock LHD 16v GTI around Bedford flat out ALL day and apart from a slight mishap of losing some gearbox oil on lap 2 due to a dodgy seal, it took everything we threw at it.

I don’t think I’ve ever driven a mk2 as hard as I did that day. Was bundles of fun and would recommend it to anyone.

Which seal leaked then? It has a 2Y box right?

The speedo seal, went onto the exhaust and created a big poof out the back, which made it seem a lot worse than it was. Found a new style VW plug in the tool bag, stole the seal and sent it. Worked flawlessly.

Good fun Bedford, I shat myself there once as one of my front flexi hoses split on braking at the end of the back straight from 130mph.

Also I did a bit of drifting lol
