I spent this afternoon investigating the source of an oil leak on my Mk2 8V, and I noticed a hole in the top of the gearbox (or roughly around that area) with a 'stopper' in it. There is a hole in the middle of the stopper.

I was just wondering what this 'hole' is for, and whether it should be open or not? I could try posting a photo if I haven't done a good job of describing it. I certainly hope it's not the oil filler for the gearbox... [8(]
