Hi guys, I've had an 02j on my 20v mk2 for a year or so and im going to strip out the engine and box this winter to paint it all up and make it look pretty. I wanted to know if its normal for the output flanges to have a little rotational play in them when in gear, i'm talking maybe 1/8th of a rotation or less.. basically wondering if its worth sending off for a rebuild or if its normal?
You’ll always have backlash, although it can seem worse if the pinion or diff bearing preload has gone.
