I looked in the mega 1.8t loom thread, but the length of it daunted me...
Long story short, I'm putting a 1.8t mk2 back together, after someone else took it apart!
Car has an OE 1.8t ecu.

The new engine isn't the one previously installed.

Iirc, it was a BAM head previously.

Head has AMT stamped on it, it has DBW, a forge DV and a silicone TIP.

There's just a few things I'm unsure of...
    1. On the coil pack section of the loom, there are 2, 2 pin connectors, which look like they'd plug onto n75 valves for example. However, there's what looks like an n75 on the TIP, after the MAF/AFM, and there's a 2 pin that fits nicely onto it.

I could just plug the 2 connectors into the 2 valves, but there doesn't appear to be anywhere for the vac lines to go.

    2. There's a 2 pin plug on the end of the inlet cam area, at the breather. Cam variator??
Doesn't appear to be any spare plugs nearby, the ones listed above won't reach it. Is this something unused on some cars?

    3. There's a single pin connector, near the main 14 pin one, is this used? Again, can't see a home for it.

    Thanks in advance.

And yes, I too would love to rewire it, it's not pretty!

All sorted, i should have posted.
Plugged the 2 redundant 249s in, and left the vvt, there just isn't a bit of loom for it.

It starts, idles, revs and runs, so I'll take that!

Of course, after a test run, it's misfiring as it comes on boost, under load now... Sheesh.

what part number is the ecu, and have you scanned it for faults? strip the tape off the coilpack wiring to check for cracks, you need to follow it right back towards the ecu a fair way to make sure its all good. especially if someones been in there before you, they might have missed some issues further up. VW made a repair kit because this issue is so common

I haven't John, just went for a short spin before bedtime. And I've nothing at home to scan it with. I don't know which ECU either, tbh.
I'm suspecting coil or plug related stuff.
