    Hi.

We have a B5.5 Passat 1.9TDI and whilst cruising at roughly 35mph I stuck it in third and the engine just cut out. Pulled over to have visual inspection in the engine bay, checked the cambelt which was fine. I plugged my code reader in and it didn't bring up any codes etc.
I really cant work out what is going on. It definitely has fuel in it but it just wont fire. It turns over but wont fire.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance

When was fuel filter changed last? Possibly split pipe?

If cambelt is ok maybe a squirt of brake cleaner after the mag see if it gies

next check thru the ecu measurign blocks, see if any of the sensor readings are off. I'd start with the engien rpm, make sure it goes up while cranking
