REPOSTED: Scale resolution on plot shows the typical 16v torque delivery, which is'nt as apparent on toyo's scaling. Dyno for dyno, comparitive numbers tho which is nice.

comparison of different dyno technology on a couple of 16v's been on my rollers

shows what i have seen for years is the classic torque rise then dip then rise again, which is'nt apparent on the comparison mk2 16v work on the other thread.

ibiza is stock abf, modded airbox and panel filter, new leads
mk1 golf is mostly unknown, 1800 block, so say 2ltr, but doubtfull, and some 288 cams, maybe... god knows

KR 1800's "always" had a dip in the curve at around 3 to 3-1/2k on our rollers, and nothing like the perfect curve VW used to tout around. A 2ltr is much less so... just like your graph really.

Can you set up valvers on the dyno Bill?

My latest 2L on k-jet will need a tweak and power run before long:)

Short block ACE (equivalent to a 6A/9A) with 051 head and ABF cams. Effectively an ABF head on 9A block

I can do some adjustments yes, but not as experienced as vince is by any means on k-jet (I am all ecu's and dta, throttle bodies [:D] )

Why does the torque and power not cross at 5200rpm on the red plot?

  10. Admin Guest

They are on the same graph so the scale is therefore the same, even if the scaling was stretched, squashed or what ever they should always cross over at 5250rpm (or what ever the exact rpm is).

    So why not here?

Not the same scale up the sides. Torque at 100hp is 121nmish and goes up in a scale at about 1/2 what bhp is going up.
