16v front brake caliper carriers

    Hi can anyone tell me the difference with golf gti 16v 256mm front brake caliper carriers, I thought there was only one but I've heard there are two types can anyone shed any light on this as I only have one numbers on it are( I think under all the rust )
    3532-2 CN1

    the very early ones are 443615125B, 90 on 357615125B. as for the differences, since the actual caliper is the same for both as is the wheel bearing carrier so as long as you have a matched set it doesnt really matter.

    main thing to watch out for is a lot of the 256x13mm solid brake kits from lower spec mk3 golf etc are being sold as 'mk2 16v' but they wont actually take the vented discs so watch out for that

    Hi RJ I knew you would be the man to know, the only numbers I can get off my one is 3532-2 CN1 and 3278 so how does that check out with either 443615125B and 357615125B, also I have seen a second hand one for sale but it has 3532-2 CN4 and 1142 on it ?

    this is a good question, I haven't found a reference for carrier casting numbers hopefully someone can chime in on that one. you can look up some of the caliper ones using the exchange numbers but that doesnt help you here
