    Hi all

I have a rainbow interior in my 5 door 8 valve GTI

I have taken a look at the option sticker in the boot and it list 49 next to the paint code (LP9V) for my car

Did VW provide the rainbow option in 1988 and if not does anyone know what the available
    options were

    Thanks

I have checked some of the option codes and no info

The colour is LP9V which seems pretty unusual

    Thanks

It all seems to make sense, LP9V, rainbow interior and the age.

I have read 1 in 10 million editions should have Le Castellet 14 inch wheels ?

I have thought of ordering the birth certificate but the delay (approx 8 mnths) is putting me off + I suspect it will not confirm specifically that its a 1 in 10 millionth

Is there a single source of data ref all the special editions when, what ect ect

the list above is best source there is for all the mk1/2 codes, but this site has a brilliant list of all the obscure special editions though it doesnt show what the codes were:
    https://translate.googleusercontent...e.html&usg=ALkJrhh9xnmyDrOzTlWWKwgzchnU6wQdDw

what option codes does your mk2 have? but having rainbow interior code for an 8v GTI pretty much garauntees its a 1 in 10 million it was only ever in an 8v for this edition (in the UK at least)

As Rubjonny says one in ten million had rainbow trim tinted rear lights and as you stated James 14" le castellet alloy wheels the only other 8 valves that got rainbow trim were some of the last big bumper ones that had it fitted ( I remember a mate of mine had a 91 J plate 5 door oak green one many years ago with rainbow trim, 16v rear lights, bee sting aerial, front leccy windows and pas as well)

Interesting to read these posts re. The rainbow seats and 1 in 10 million edition. I’ve got one of these stored since 2001.
I’ve been lucky enough to dry store.
Any thoughts on this wood trim. Haven’t seen it or heard mentioned on any other GTI’s. Will try to attach pics.

Finally getting to grips with getting car back on road

Car is 88 GTI 8v Swartz black
    Rainbow interior
    3 door
    Small bumper
    Le Castelet wheels
    Wood trim
