1992 Mk2 Golf 8v

    Hi All,
    I am after some info if possible, I have a 1992 PB engine 8v GTI, it has a automatic gearbox mated to the engine, but I am getting told that it is wrong, and Mk2 GTI's never left the factory with an auto box, does anyone know if this is true? before I convert it back to Manual?

    Never heard of an auto MK2 GTI.

    its entirely possible, check the service book and.or boot sticker will tell you what code of box it left the factory with. other clues would be the quality of the installation, if it looks pretty shonky with DIY cable brackets for example it probably wont be original

    Thanks guys. Checked the boot sticker and it should have been a manual...conversion has been done well mind you...
