    [:$]

i've not seen many conversions and the only one i've seen in the flesh used the mk5 mounts cut into the mk1 legs.

The ECU side it a bit of a pain, needing a lot of mk5 bits for a good conversion

I'd take one on if the money was right, there is far more work than a 1.8t !

Doubt it very much. Vw made fsi so they could charge over 300 every time the sensor fails. And that's not including labour. :o So you don't actually save much on these "economical" engines because sensor failure offset the cost every time they fail. And its quite a common fault.

Nox sensor. Its in the nox cat. Not sure it's the same as on the turbo engines but on the 1.6fsi it's a common problem.

If it runs on Megasuirt it has been coverted to run on the port fuel injection concept. Hardly FSI spec.
Regardless it looks as if the head and block were used so it would be interested how they mounted it if someone is contemplating fitted a real direct injecction version in a MK1.

its not direct injection as you can see it has 8 injectors on the inlet manifold only 4 wired at the moment , i'll get somemore pictures and mount details.

Very Strong engine though, Mahle Forged Pistons as standard .

    16v its the future, you'll see a MK1 2.0T FSI soon on the 1/4 mile .

    Hey Brookster

Nice Talking to you @ AET

I made some changes to the golf and whe had our first Round of the Dutch Time Attack Series last weekend . See www.timeattack.nl

I lost the brakes in lap 3 of the first free practice and had to pump the pedal to get some brake pressure @ every corner but that was consistent so could live/ride with that .

I finished 2 only 1 sec after a skyline R33GT-R with 750HP but as i was faster in qualifing iI scored more points and am now leading the championship in the Super Pro class [:D]

Gonna fix the brakes and convert the engine to E85 for some extra HP and ad some more wings for downforce .
Next round is the DAF festival @ 13 Juni

    Cheers Ronald
