 a wise decision. keeps you out playing and coming up with ideas for the main project. try not to get too sidetracked though want to see that other one out again. gti track show was it's last and only outing was it not? melted fuel tank and off the road since then?

correct, last place I drove it was indeed Donington at that event.....SOOOO long ago.

I'm half tempted to keep both now. Turn this one into an all out drag car with as much nitrous as I can ram down it's throat and tiny but wide wheels with huge drag slicks. I reckon a VR can take 300bhp pf gas. 500bhp in a lightweight FWD car has got to be capable of sub 11's?

You can get the corrado fairly light if ya want, altho
depends alot on engine used etc.
My raddo weights in at a shade over 900 ready to race so it is possible
and i haven't gone mad chopping stuff inside the car either

    A few updates.

Been having a lot of bother with inner CV joints. When it's running well on the nitrous and I run it from the launch I'm smashing the cage on the NS inner CV joint when I go for third gear.

So I'm trying to eliminate what may be causing this. I've been told my front wheels move back in the arch a lot when i change gear so this was my first area of attack.

Powerflex have brought out some spherical bearing bushes, for the Mk4 platofrm cars, but as you probably alreayd know they're the same size and the mk2 and mk3 (and thus corrado) bushes. I decided to go one step further and actually use the TT wishbones too.

    Bushes drilled out:-
    [IMG]

Reasons I've fitted them. They're very strong, the ball joint is much bigger and angled, so it suits the extra castor.
    Max castor setting
    [IMG]

breaker bar to show the line through the strut to the ball joint.

I need to make a bracket to mount the ARB link to.

Slight problem being the design of the spacers is wrong, they are too small.
and don't fit in the ridge in the subframe.

I've emailed pwoerflex and explained the problem. no good, can't run these like that.

Uprated SX performance fuel system to fit somewhere.

Tee off to the fuel solenoid of the nitrous system.

Just checking location suits the 4WD shell too

    Billet cap with mil-spec connector

    check valve

    pickup with gauze
    [IMG]
had a few fuel surge issues under heavy braking so need to lower the pickup or invest in a swirl pot system.

pump mounted in factory location, damn it's noisy.

cat bypass pipe off GVK. was too short so i had to extend it.

    Another action shot

OZ racing/Prodrvie magnesium wheels off a Group N gravel spec Impreza.

Looks like a standard job to me. I think i can read Graham Edwards Trailers on it. Their website doesnt seem to work though.

I seems a bit high, Is that a manual or electric winch?

its high because of the wheels being underneath the trailer.

nice updates Paul:thumbup: loving all the new braided lines

    I can see that!

Just thought it would have made sence to put the bed on the axle of the wheels, But i suppose that does add to the width of it:)

Looks like one of those electric winches powered by a handle operated generator.

Trailers are all made to order. I didn't want a car trailer. They're crap. Too wide, flimsy, and you can only put cars on them. That's why I got that one made up. Flat bed so I can carry anything on it (up to 2500kg) and jack the car up on it too. 14'x6' kept it narrow so it fits up the car port. 10" wheels to keep it low. Beavertail, the back 30" drops down 3" so you don't catch the sills or exhaust. 8' ally ramps which go in the ramp store underneath. Twin axle as they're easier to push and steer by hand than a triple. Winch is manual. Didn't want electric as that means more electrics and more things to go wrong.

Can have a tyre rack instead of the head board and a strap box could be used for spares and tools.

Been in talks with poweflex all week about the bushes, making alterations to them so they can be used on mk2's and mk3s. Will post up all details when they turn up and if they fit.

Ball joint spacers mocked up, just need some decent bearings so I can design some proper spacers and get them machined up.

Not looking good to get it ready for be action in a fortnight...:-(
