Sad times, all good for the learning thou. Hows the audi coming on? is the money from breaking this going to finish it off?
What makes me sad more than anything is seeing a beautifully kept original car in 2006 and seeing it wrecked and end up as scrap. I know ppl love projects but I wish they'd use crap cars to begin with [:^(]
Ta for the comments, glad it was enjoyed and will be missed Just had a guy going through all my Audi wiring (only thing left to do and this guy knows what he's doing) even he can't work it out so it looks like that's going next. For sale though, not the scrapyard, that really would be a shame to bin that! Won't be any full on projects for a loooonnnng time now, nowhere to build one, no money to even start, pretty much all the Golf money will be paying off various debts as sad as that is And on the matter of it being mint, don't let the first pictures fool you, the rear panel was scabby as hell when I got it, the rest of the shell was far from spotless and the refurbed engine chewed itself up. So yeah, it was really a dog in the first place, and that's why it ended up being the project it was, and where it is today...
I did still have pretty much everything that came off it, I chucked it all in the car when I scrapped it... The car did not last that long Dear 1990, please win the lottery. Let me know in a year or 2 when you do
Poor thing! I'll miss the hilarity of this build. Jolfa, whats that sad song called in the video? been trying to find it for years! (yeh i know, my searching skills suck!)
Wasn't it on a VW advert as well? The one about 'some things are best left alone'. A real shame to see it come to an end Jolfa. If you hadn't have lost your unit would you have kept it? Genuinely thought that one you'd keep for good.
Probably, I had planned to keep it for good, but it was doomed before I even started the project really, it was rotten as hell, I didn't realise it was as bad as it was before I stripped it
