Surely that 'cos it's got standard KR cams, mine had much more torque lower down (well all through the range actually) with those...

    Interesting graphs

My car had poorer curves for power and torque than in the summer, [:^(]
The car was running less timing and was freshly set up by Vince when the WUR mod was done.

Perhaps another set up may be on the cards but at the end of the day on the road it feels very strong at all points from low down to the top of the spectrum where it's best.

My power ATW was poorer in the summer than on Sunday. [:s]

Grahams car had lower ATW figure on Sunday..154hp v 168hp on my car but his tranmission losses was due partly because of his 2 degree camber......it's all relative.

Tubs torque looks very good....perhaps Gary can post my old graphs on his site against the most recent day to see where I've lost most torque.

Still the power and torque on my car will look isignificant compared to our MKIV....but I'd still like more.

    Ian

Have you done it yet? Would be intersted in hearing your views as to whether there was much difference at all?

To get a proper measurement you need to take the inlet manifold off, then measure the width of the holes in the manifold 'pipes'. But just by looking at them, I've noticed that the 42mm one's have straight 'pipes all the way down, whereas the 50mm one's get fatter half-way down the 'pipes'. Also in he 42mm one, the gap between the pipes where they leave the top is a stetched upside down 'u' shape, whereas in the 50mm one it isn't! Telling the difference that way between 42mm & 40.5 mm would be very hard though, I would have thought!

Gaskets about a fiver for both from GSF for the 42mm. The upper gasket for the 50mm is VW only and is 14ish.

    Thanks!

If i remove my 50mm one and I don't like the 42 0r 40mm (if i can get one) can i re-use the 50mm gasket if it's in good shape?
