cables in my mk3 OBD2 VR6 feel worn out and crap,

looking to change it for a 6speed TT/MK4 FWD conversion.

what is the best gearbox, cables and shafts to use in my VR6?

    VR5 stuff? Gearbox code?

    Cheers in advance :)

Just change shifter to an 02j setup if it feels crap.

V5 gearbox is 5 speed only I think. Shorter ratios for better acceleration. [emoji6]

MK4 6 speed boxes are the 02M type, which is a pain to fit in MK1/2/3 platform as it involves custom driveshafts. if you can find a MK5 platform 6 speed box those 02S type which is based on the 02J box and pretty much direct fit. only thing I'm not sure of is if there are 5/6 pot versions available or if they're all tiptronic or whatever.

However! since you will need to swap the bellhousing half of the casing for a 02J one for the speedo drive as no hole in the 02s anyway, this will kill 2 birds with 1 stone as you can fit a 5/6 pot 02J half over at the same time if you end up with a 4 cylinder 02S box

your old VR6 02a casing may also work? best to check that first

I'm after an 02j shifter for my V5 box if anyone has one spare.

    I bought a V5 box for my FWD R32 to replace a VR6 one.
