I had a quick go in my Mk2 earlier on the local airfield... not ideal conditions (cue excuses) as a). Car had a bootful of tools and shopping b). running on 'normal' unleaded as couldn't find Optimax last time I filled up c). airfield is uphill.... [:$]

The result was 11 - 12 seconds, not great

Results from that calc for my car would be something like...

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 170 (ish?)
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1100 (maybe more?)
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 157.03
    0 - 60 (Secs) : 6.90
    0 - 100 (Secs) : 18.35
    60 - 100 (Secs) : 11.44
    Quarter Mile (Secs) : 15.33
    Terminal Speed (MPH) : 91.42
Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 15.13
Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 93.01

I'll get some Optimax in, empty the boot and investigate a flat airfield and see if I can do better... :p

Bill, I'd say those 1/4 times are achievable if you remember how James from Jabba's mk2 went...

0-100 in 8s, thats 500bhp Ultima territory!!!, when I went out in one he got me to time 0-100 on my phone as we pulled out of a filling station, yep.. job done!!

How much would my mk1 weigh?
    I removed 42kgs (6.5 stone).

But it does have a stainless exhaust & filler pipe.

About as much as a sardine can with a stainless exhaust and filler pipe tbh.

if it's stripped oout i would take a guess at hi 600s - low 700 tbh. but i might be miles off, lol.

What to do is get your scales, weigh yourself, then pick up the car and weigh yourself again and subtract your own weight..............., oh hang on, that's for dogs and cats [:$]

I wouldn't think it would be much over 700kg tbh m8. they are only 790kg standard are they not?

in 0-anything times its all to do with tyres and technique.
I know my car is very capable of achieving that sort of acceleration in ideal conditions and tyres.

My cars likely to be 500bhp also when all done.

Right people it's been bugging me that I had to change to 4th at 92mph (see post No 61 on page 3) I tried it in 4th and it was quicker - 7.3seconds but 3rd felt loads stronger.

So I got the old lappy out and moved the rev limiter to 6,950rpm (was 6,450rpm) hey presto I can now do 100 in 3rd! :)

Result is 6.6 seconds 60-100mph. As before video below to prove as I'm not into bullcrap.

Can't be assed to change them, got a Road Angel too. Besides, how often do you really drive over 120?
