Mike, Ians has plastic windows and an extra cam + 8 extra valves and his was 800+... VWBoff - Looks rapid!! What's your real name btw ?
That's what i thought gary, on the mk1 owners club they said: mk1 - 810kgs mk2 - 929kgs mk3 - 1110kgs mk4 - 1200
Gary I'm Mike by the way I bloody wish mine weighed 929Kg!!!! 1,000Kg with the rear seats belts etc out.
For the fat Saab - I reckon everything is about right except the 60-100, which is way out. Have repeadely done 8's, reckon that particular benchmark must suit the gearing & engine characteristics. Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 210 Weight without Driver (KG) : 1450 Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 147.15 0 - 60 (Secs) : 7.25 0 - 100 (Secs) : 18.88 60 - 100 (Secs) : 11.63 Quarter Mile (Secs) : 15.64 Terminal Speed (MPH) : 91.01 Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 15.44 Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 92.57
going by my old cars power figures 270 @ wheels (300ish i expect fly figure), and weight as gary put in (although i think i might be a fair bit heavier ) Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 300 Weight without Driver (KG) : 1170 Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 260.53 0 - 60 (Secs) : 4.79 0 - 100 (Secs) : 10.91 60 - 100 (Secs) : 6.12 Quarter Mile (Secs) : 13.09 Terminal Speed (MPH) : 109.51 Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 12.89 Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 111.52

Come on people stop p1ssing about. That calculator is a good tool but it's THEORETICAL. Film it with your phone or digi cam & lets cut all the crap out.
Theres not much point mate... i timed it at just over 13secs I might do another run to shave some time off that 11.5 time with a quicker gear shift and taking it to 6500rpm in 3rd (was only to about 5800rpm before)
Yes lets show everyone breaking the speed limit while holding a phone on a public road on a public forum .
Had a go this morning, video wasnt very clear but i'v timed it couple of times and it is around 7s, maybe a bit less, not bad i think
I think you'll find most people are doint this 60-100 on their own private test tracks, I certainly am
Just to clarify, is everyone doing this from a static 60mph? ie. get to 60, hold it there then nail it to 100. Making sure we're compairing apples for apples!
