Hi Volks, My ‘91 16v with a blue No:67 relay has always primed with ignition switched on before start. Got a ‘84 8V which used to do the same but had an aftermarket fuel pump relay. Recently swapped that aftermarket one for a brand new genuine VW relay (part No: 321 906 059H, relay 65) which no longer does the prime. Starts fine and just wondering why the 16v has the prime and the earlier 8v doesn’t? Ta guys.
16v fuel pump is contro,led by the ecu, 8v by the relay. some kjet relay do the prime and some dont, makes no odds so dont worry
