Can anyone help, my golf vr6 1992, 50k miles appox has started cutting out and being very lumpy when stopped at trafic lights, it happens when cold and warm but more so when warm. I've been told its a common problem with a particular sensor, it recently had a service and the only mod is a jetex induction filter. Any help would be appriciated!

probably something to do with the ISV. maybe worth cleaning it with carb cleaner. but to be sure get a garage to plug in a diagnostics sytem to check for fault codes.
