    Hi guys,

Picked up my 2.0 16v (ABF) Seat Cordoba on Saturday ;)

Only problem is that it's a pain to start (need to give it some revs) and it feels like it wants to stall. On further investigation, I've fouind that the rubber seal around the Idle Control Valve, where it's pushed into the inlet manifold, has fallen apart. This is causing a massive air leak :(

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy a new seal, and where from ?!?

I'm going to pop into GSF tonight on my way home and see if they can help.

    Cheers,

    Andy

    Haven't got a digi-cam mate :(

But it's located on the top of the inlet manifold, at the front of the engine.... It's a cylindrical object, about the size of a small clenched fist....

It has a pipe connected to it, that runs from the air box, and then it plugs striaght into the inlet manifold.

    Hope that helps!!! ;)

Replaced the seal on the ICV tonight.... hasn't solved the starting and idle problem though :(

The ICV is working, 'cause it's 'buzzing' with just the ignition on....

Am going to replace the plugs, leads, rotor arm etc next weekend, so that might cure it....

    Will keep you all posted.....

I have a similar issue on my ABF mk2, suspect the idle control valve to be faulty, what’s the part number for it and where can I get it, been a nightmare trying to find someone that stocks it
