Had a drama today, oil cooler is leaking so started off with the intention of just trying to get that dropped down to replace the seal but after a few misshaps and some swearing I decided to just rip the front end of my Mk3 and rip the Aircon out as it’s heavy, not gased up and I don’t use it and replace the waterpump and timing belt along with the oil cooler. In my haste I took the alternator bracket and the complete water pump housing off even though I had only bought a new pump which was sat in a box from 9 months ago so I know these bolts are “stretch” bolts but do people re-use them? I am struggling to find them from anywhere that isn’t going to take an ice age to get delivered. Any info will be appreciated.
Thanks rubjonny, assuming just torque them back up to 20nm and still put the quater turn on? Were not talking high torque on these I guess anyway.
