Had a drama today, oil cooler is leaking so started off with the intention of just trying to get that dropped down to replace the seal but after a few misshaps and some swearing I decided to just rip the front end of my Mk3 and rip the Aircon out as it’s heavy, not gased up and I don’t use it and replace the waterpump and timing belt along with the oil cooler.

In my haste I took the alternator bracket and the complete water pump housing off even though I had only bought a new pump which was sat in a box from 9 months ago so I know these bolts are “stretch” bolts but do people re-use them? I am struggling to find them from anywhere that isn’t going to take an ice age to get delivered.

    Any info will be appreciated.

99% out there will just re-use without issue. I have plenty of times

Thanks rubjonny, assuming just torque them back up to 20nm and still put the quater turn on?

Were not talking high torque on these I guess anyway.
