Seriously though, it's a dirt cheap way to do it - and no intake flaps or hot wire meters at all...... plus it's easily mapped.
Cheers TSC...always good to know... BM AFM arrived today so fitted it on & dialled in the spring tension etc etc.. Engine runs fine, but mixture screw needs to be fully in (rich) Also leans out badly under load & misses, so will try the Porsche FPR to see if this helps..(picking it up tomorrow) Booked in at TSR tomorrow afternoon so they can have a fiddle & see what it does.. Wasnt previously aware that I could use Digi 1, but may well consider it in the future..
being omnipotent must be dead handy when looking for car bits TSC what do you put into ebay when looking for ecu? i tried ecu on ebay.de and had no luck
Steuergert . Like this one. Sometimes they go for buttons, sometimes they go for a decent price. There's always a few on there, you just need to wait a week or two until a cheap one comes up......
Yes Digi 2 can run throttle bodies. I am converting over to throttle bodies at the moment. I have a wealth of info on Digi 2 tuning. All you need is a hex editor, an EPROM burner, a good AFR sensor and some patience.
But I do (except paitence). Once I have some rough maps available I'll post them. Saves about AU$1000 on a aftermarket ECU, plus fitting.
This project is something that I am interested in doing myself, after I have put a programable ignition in for a starter. Can people share some links with good information in please, I haven't looked for some yet but it would save me wading through the crap.
In typical TSC "style" could i suggest that a fuel rail pressure gauge would be a worthwhile investment if embarking upon such practices? M.
just what i was thinking! for that price you can't go wrong. useful for indicating all sorts of other problems too. I think it's probably essential for you Chris, experimenting the way U are! M.
It's good and accurate too, and fluid filled so it doesn't vibrate the needle with engine movement. Now permanently fitted under my bonnet.....
Always a dilema: did you point it forwards for when you are working under there, or backwards, so you can run around without the bonnet and see if the pressure falls of under high load? M.
