P5T is not a full code

LP5T doesnt come up with anything

L52M comes up as black blue and was used between 01/08/89 - 31/07/92

Is the little sticker still in the boot, that will have the paint code on it, if not the handbook if you have it.

i stole today from work a very big book of all manufacturers paint codes and names ( shh ;) )

P5T and LP5T are the same, some paint manufacturers drop the L when listing it in there scheme and the name is Blauschwarz metalic from around the year 1990.

L52M is Scwarz Blau, a solid non metalic color from around the year 1976.

If your unsure about your colour code and name phone volkswagon dealer and they can find it out for you very quickly using your reg plate number and / or chassis number.

sorry to bring up such an old post but 2 years on and I still have not managed to match the colour of my car.

I thought it was P5T/LP5T but this colour is lighter than my car.

I went to VW and they said this...

    ETKA showed this...

    colour code: 998249

    ??????!!!!!!!!?????

then they tried another database they have and showed this...

    Colour name: BlauSchwarz Met:--special colour
    Colour code: (Blank)

    what next?

few pics below. the panel on the right was sprayed with P5T and is spto on when lloked at point blank but when you look at it from an angle its lighter than the door. The colour of the door is very similar to LA9V but instead of a burgundy tint its more grey like P5T........

maybe I should get P5T and get a big more black added to it, is this possible?

ive had the same prob got a volkswagon spray can .
i used the number in the rear sticker and on vw dealers computer the numbers match, but the paint is a differrent shade ive tryed halfourds mix still no good .
i think for a perfect match have to get a painter to mix it up

I have L52M (Schwarzblau). LP5T (Blauschwarz) really threw me off, because when I first met the car it was introduced as Blueblack. When it's really Blackblue.

There's no such thing as an identical colour match out of a spray gun let alone a can. At least not without a lot of time spent matching. 99.99% o the time you have to blend the Ajacent panel to get it right.
