Just got a blitz chip delivered for a mk3 valver, I'll post if it makes any difference. If it does it's well worth the 40 it cost. Just got to find the ECU, if anyone has any pictures they could post it'd be much appreciated.
mine made 172 at stealth, another guy got 177 on the same rollers. mine for some reason has a pretty low torque curve below 3k, not sure if this is chip related tho. the guy at stealth really did not like blitzchips tho, but he may have just been wanting to sell me a full remap
that would be me with the 177bhp lol! yeah definitely worth it, i mean for 40 you do notice an improvement in power, not massive, but certainly smoother and pulls better. cant complain for that sort of money really
yup, that'll be him lol i wonder why mine was 5bhp behind yours on the same rollers? mine is not totally healthy mind you. was yours on 95ron at the time? mine was
mine was running optimax and had an induction kit although i dont think the induction kit made much of a difference, and im scrapping it for a custom made enclosed air box. one thing i have noticed with the Blitzchip, running it on BP ultimate makes a big difference BP Ultimate i have noticed really makes a noticeable performance improvement, even alot more than the optimax, not sure what the difference is but it pulls alot better and is alot more responsive the blitzchip works best with some form of an induction kit and exhaust, im getting the exhaust tomorrow so will let you know what the difference is when fitted. its a good buy
haha. well im happy with 172 on 95octane. may try some high octane stuff again soon (stopped using that when i realised the engine had probs and wasnt going to gain anything). now what its mostly sorted (apart from my hunting idle) i may do a couple tanks of BP ultimate etc i could match your bhp yet lol my car is so efficient now. 36+mpg on motorway even when thrashed. 30ish around town when driven sensibly
I'll get it done at the weekend and see what happens. Does any one know if I have to tell my insurance company? The chip is pretty non descript, it had a sticker on it but I've taken that off so it looks standard, but it says made in taiwan on it which is a bit of a giveaway if any nosey insurance investigators have a look in the unfortunate event of an accident.
Hehe... maybe I should start off some new fad and wear the anti-static wrist band all the time. Did you like the way I stuck it onto the radiator too! Cars been running fine with the Blitzchip if you're worried about reliability like I was. Done a couple of thousand miles no probs, time for an oil change
Right, Blitzchip was installed on Saturday and it's ace. Car feels much more agressive and like others have said it pulls way better than previously. I wasn't expecting much and I'm surprised at how effective it is, I'm also running BP high octane. Speaking of BP I was at Goodwood at the weekend and BP had an exhibition on their new fuel which is 102RON! Should be fun, the BP exhibition explaining the fuel however was excruciatingly dull. I have no before and after figures of the chip, but the car definately feels better for it and 4th gear has suddenly woken up.
Here's the web site, doen't say that you can get a mk3 16v but they do sell them on ebay. http://www.blitzchip.co.uk/
