I know what you have done....

OK - on the blitzchip there will be a long code

If you take out the ECU on your car, on the cover or somewhere will be a long code as well

The code on the blitzchip and the code on the ECU must match, otherwise you will have problems like you are having now, due to timing, fueling etc will be programmed differently to what is on the car and what is on the blitzchip

(had the same issue with superchips and a ford escort i once had years ago)

best thing to do is contact the seller "blitzchip" and ask him to remap it, basically send it back to him and he will change it, he has all the generic maps so will only take 5 minutes

i had the same issue as i bought the wrong chip off him, but he was great and sorted it all out for me

    hope this helps

he may take a little while to respond as he is very busy, i suggest mailing him, he will swap it out, so it should be fine

i thought "oh, its a siemens not a bosch" at first but looked closer and realised there were different codes.

    still happy with mine.

not done the cat yet but am wondering what they next upgrade should be. should just accept that itll never be mega powerful

If purchasing one off ebay, do you need to give the code of your ECU ? how can you tell if your ECU is either a bosch or siemens ? or is that determined by the code ?

its determined by the code on the chip and matched against your ECU

I have a mk3 16v running a Blitzchip, modified airbox, de cat pipe, and full Magnex system. The Blitzchip defenetly works better when the breathing and exhaust are done aswell. The car pulls much stronger then before, and will hold its power all the way to the red line. Before the power would tail off towards the red line. I have had no problems since fitting the chip(touch wood) and would recommend them to anyone who has any doubts.

same here Al, my exhaust is going on this week, so i will be interested in the difference as i hear the blitzchip is well suited to an uprated air intake and exhaust

Just wondering if anyone has any comparison between the Blitzchip and other more expensive brand chips for the mk3 16V such as AMD/Revo/Custom Code, which are more used to mapping later cars, such as 1.8T but do specify they do a chip for mk3s.

The de cat made the engine a bit more free reving, not so sure it's increased power a great deal on it's own, but works very well with every thing else done.

If you have access to VAG-COM, then you can get the code via the diagnostic port. Otherwise you'd need to unbolt it to be able to read the code printed on the sticker. (As shown in top of picture)

diff to say i guess gary

someone would have to have before and after plots with a normal MK3 and then the blitzchip and then the same with the other tuners

prob not very likely, as i have noticed there are not that many MK3 valvers on here:)
