Goimg To Do A Cambelt Change On Polo 1.4 8v Engine Code Apq, Anything I Should Look Out For??

 

Here's a quick sketch from memory............



All pretty straightforward on these newer ones............... old ones used to be tensioned by the waterpump which was a pig to do

 

useful info for when I look at doing the cambelt on the girlf's 1.4 (APQ) Ibiza

any other hints/tips ?!?

 

Line up all the timing marks before whipping the belt off.
Had cars before where someone has had the dizzy off and not lined it up with the marks so when you try and put it all together right it doesnt work.

It's a pretty straightforward job on these. Take your time and double check everything and you'll be fine

 

hmmm,.....your memory is rather similar to an autodata manual!

 

I may have browsed through the Autodata CD before picking up my pencil and rule.......
