camshaft pictures

    upon taking off rocker mk2 8v to check noise i suspected a valve bent dropped but now think it is either shells on no3/4 or piston 3/4 (sounds like piston slap), does anyone have a picture of the cam etc in the head they (without plastic cover)can post the reason is that i see the cam clamps no1,2,3,5 but no no4 there is a gap as if it should be there and there is a metal lump but no signs of the boltholes and looks totally different and smaller than the others it may be where a sensor for the cam should be, i am not clued up on these engines as ive never worked on one never mind a topend many thanks for any help.

    That is normal...there is no cam bearing cap at the #4 postion;)

    the only engines with this bearing are crossflow 8v`s

    early shimmed tappet heads have the 5 bearings,they lost one when they went hydrolic:)

    good stuff thanks for that as said never took topend apart before but thats put my mind at ease starting stripdown tommorow cheers and beers.:thumbup:
