Just a quicky. I have a mk2 Driver, I've heard it said that you can up the performance on these by putting an 8v GTI camshaft on them, will this work even though as I assume the GTI is a crossflow head and Driver is not?
I've already got a weber on it and I was looking to a step forward.

That's what I run, it runs just fine and combined with a GTi exhaust and Weber carb a 1.8 Driver ain't any much slower than a GTi. Just make sure you get the right cam for your head the later ones have hydraulic tappets and the cams are different.

yes you can fit the cam with no worries,

the opening and closing degree's of the valves are differant on the Gti cam, I havent tried it myself so cant comment on any power increase

What kind of horse power would I be looking at with a webber and a GTI camshaft without the exhaust manifold and system off a GTI?

Depends if its a 1.6 or 1.8 driver but id say between 85-90bhp for a 1.6 and poss a bit over 100bhp for a 1.8.
