I was going to change my front engine mount on my mk2 (1.3) however the rear mount (drivers side) look like its falling apart too!

However I'm puzzled as to how I would be able to change this mount without lifting the engine out?

Is there a simple way without removing the engine or it that the only way? [:s]

it would be possible but a pain.
Alternatively you could drop the whole subframe away from teh engine whilst it is supported with an engine support (on wings).
not sure you best route TBH, did mine when out

just remove the engine mount bracket (engine supported by trolley kack obviously), you can gain access by going in under wheel arch.

if you unbolt the drive shaft access is greatly improved :)

I changed mine while doing a PAS conversion. It JUST came out with the subframe loose and the engine jacked up, driveshaft was still in but it would be easier with it out.

Might see if the person who fitted can do it without removing the engine if possible as i can do the front myself, but its pointless me changing the front without the rear giving its shot.

Apart from the front and rear engine mounts, are there any others that i should consider?

I've got an engine mount for the front as that needed replacing, but the rear looks even worse!

Might have a chat around with some people i know and see who's the happiest to do the job for me, roughly how many hours should I leave to replace both front and rear mounts? 3-4 hours?

i have done one , you need to remove the bracket that it is attached to and jack up the engine , pain in the ass looks alot easier then it is . but can be done in a hour or so
