When you see the Snapon van / man just ask him they seem to sell to anyone and take card payments, My CTU4850 was 300+Vat and came with a Cover, Spare battery, Later type charger and a benny hat.

    Cheers:thumbup:

Although i can't justify spending 300+ on one - was thinking more of up to the 150 mark[:$] if there's any out there that are good for that sort of price? If not, better get saving

I paid about 125 for a 24v Sealey one from Toolmania on Ebay. The one I had at Cadwell.

Edit... they seem to be even cheaper now.

Was in Machine Mart yesterday, and a Clarke one was about 93 with case, two batteries and three or four sockets. Think it was about 200lb/ft? Theres also another Clarke one, over 400lb/ft, but only one battery, for around 130ish.

To all of you using 24V jobbies. Are you getting flashes from the motor area when you pull the trigger?

Yup - mine (same as Altern8's) will undo hub nuts if it's fully charged - they're torqued to 265NM.

I bought a Dewalt 18v one a couple of years back, the DW059 with 2 batteries, charger and case - its done 4 engine swaps, too many suspension changes and thousands of wheel bolts. The case never gets used because i want it handy all the time, it has pride of place on the microwave.

I havn't got any major complaints with it, it seems to have lost maybe a touch of power, but it does get abused and it could be the batteries i suppose. Is there any 'use all power then fully charge' precedures i can take with them to try to boost them up again?

Must have saved me literally days of my life by now. I don't think anyone could be disappointed if they got one. Worth every penny, i'd only sell it for a snap-on one.

How about a 230v Clarke one? About 60 from Machine Mart. Has anyone tried one? They are a lot cheaper than most other ones. 450nm torque aswell.

I generally avoid Clarke tools, but at that price it might be worth a look.

@G60RCoal - Have you done the obvious stuff like lube it? Mine needs a lick of oil every now and then.

My mates got the clark 230v one, makes light work of most things. Although it isn't undoing his honda d15 crank bolt for love nor money, it's killed 3 impact sockets in the trying though...... Not sure how long it'll last but think the brushes are easily replaceable anyway.
