I've seen plenty of Mk2's with corrado seats but I wanted the centre console handbrake cover in there to complete the look. The problem is the rear seat to floor distance is different between the golf and corradoso you are left with a gap. Also there's no easy way to secure the centre trim to a golf as the only mount point is the original handbrake cover mount at the rear of the lever.

I designed two 3D printed pieces to fix these issues. You can find them here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4888745

Print the spacer in a hard plastic like PETG or Nylon. It takes some work to sand out the layered print pattern but if your print settings are right you can get down to unifom solid plastic. I printed in black PETG but any material could obviously be painted for a better match to your interior.

The adapter should be printed in a flexible material like TPU to allow a little bit of compression. To secure the centre console, line up the inner trim against the rear seats and drill a 20mm hole straight down at a point level with the original handbrake cover screw. The adapter uses the original screw and pulls the whole trim down into the floor on the original harware. It'll be obvious once you have the adapter in your hand and I'll add pictures next time I have the console apart.

You'll also need to remove a small section of the handbrake cover underneath the base of the handbrake handle itself to allow it to be fully disengagaed. The front of the corrado handbrake cover must be trimmed slightly to line up with the golf gear lever trim. It's not perfect so I may work on a neater solution for this end too.

Nice! It doesn’t tickle my pickle personally but I can see the appeal
