Getting the tools out of drawers and onto racks is the best move every.
I now know where everything is and I am tidier as I put them back quickly.

There are also tool drawers, bottom left, with loads of special tools.

The hex key spinners in the centre are home made with heavy handles so they spin well.

I managed to make room for the new VAG 'Polydrive' Head Bolt socket T10070 next to the ols school VAG Head Bolt Spline sockets.

Thanks Dave - this is useful inspiration to get my own tools tidied up. I have accumulated quite a lot of tools now and it's all currently a bulging mess inside an overflowing and disorganised Halfords tool cabinet.

    You must do it Trev!
I really can't explain properly how much better it is.

I am having to re-build Elaine's 25J Engine at the moment and being able to put my hand on the correct tool every time is brilliant.

Looks great, i also need to do this as everything is just chucked in a halfords rolling cabinet currently and it takes a few minutes to find the tool you want!

That is brilliant! Personal hate of mine is people not putting back tools so really appreciate this. Can i ask where you got the board and fittings from?

PS You are a master engineer but a photographer you are not! hehe.

There's some innuendo in there somewhere.

Ta so Gurds regarding my engineering abilities, and I agree regarding the photography!

We don't have digital camera. Every one we have owned developed 'Pink Screen'!
Those were taken with Elaine's iPad and my hands have started to wobble!

The black back-boards are cheapo stuff from Lidl. They sell them every month or so.
Bit flimsy, but I made the wooden frames to stiffen them and to hinge them to the supports.
There are not enough plastic clips, but anyway I made special racks for most of the tool.

I used old aluminium sections and plate, that I had lying around, to make the racks.

It took me a good month of working from 14.00 hrs to 18.00 hrs this last winter to make all of the racks!

    Looking good Dave.

If you are looking for a simple solution, pick up some of the wall mounted magnetic tool bar holding strips.

    Fantastic things.
