My VDO gauges are from a Mk1 I believe. As part of the resto I want to replace cracked class in one. Can you replace the glass or will it wreck it? How does the little black bezel come off?

Cant remember if similar to lucas, its 20+ years since had vdo gauges, there are small tabs on back of bezel that you bend out and pull off bezel and glass, can snap or tear the thin/old metal if not too ginger with it.

Thanks, no little tabs on this type. I think the bezel holds the glass in by folding all the way round the gauge body. Dont fancy screwing this up, may find a company which specialises in this sort of thing.

Did have a load of new vdo dials with my ERA mini, but sold them off gradually.
Speedy dials are who I used years ago for custom stuff, try them as do repair too
