seen a fair few today on the road and not one of them waved back this not the done thing to do? more snobbery in the ranks?
If the car looks looked after they might get a nod or a wave.. if it's some scrote in a neglected, battered old Gti then I don't bother.
The myth that all dubbers are `friendly` is bullsh*t IMO. On the odd occasion I have bothered to acknowledge another VW all I`ve had is blank stares and ignorance.
i wave, any usually get a response, acknowleged a tidy clipper today and he nodded and waved back, there are a few other mk2 round my way who will wave at me too. tim
I do wave or flash, but find only Mk2s bother returning. Don't usually get much response from newer ones. I don't think they realise how privileged they are to have a Dub
i know what you mean. some people really dont care it . some times i give a flash or a nod and all you get is a werid stare or a hand guster(once). <!-- var SymRealOnLoad; var SymReal; Sym() { window.open = SymWinOpen; if(SymReal != null) SymReal(); } SymOnLoad() { if(SymRealOnLoad != null) SymRealOnLoad(); window.open = SymRealWinOpen; SymReal = window.; window. = Sym; } SymRealOnLoad = window.onload; window.onload = SymOnLoad; //-->
i wave!!!! least to nice dubs i do and if they aint mk2 16v GTI's owned by 70 year old, old men i tent to not wave!. i wouldnt wave at TSC if i seen him though cos he may come after me and beat me up
Us Southerner's always wave each other Jon, I think you've seen a few tourists today I'm always flashing and waving. Fun thing the other week, thought everyone was being ignorant, until I realised I was in the works Focus, and not me Golf, doh Al
I only bother with mark 1 and 2 gtis. Usually do get a wave back. In the old mans Defender you get loads of waves.
yeah if its a GTI!! the ones in the drivers are usually about to die. i hate to see a good VW goto waste and no puns on my car please!
always wave to other corrados would say 90% wave but and most that don't beat me to it the next time we pass living in the south wales valleys see the same cars over and over hey a wave costs nowt rob
Always they don't normally expect it from us watercooled lot though. It started with dubs from VW's early days when VW's were rare outside of Germany, you'd wave, stop have a chat about them and head on your way because it was an uncommon occurance not because of how much better they were than everyone else. Nowadays they're not rare so you just lookout for one's that are similar or look well looked after.
I always wave to a black mk2 16v in my area coz he's the only one that knows what he's driving My son wound down the window once and shouted to a lady in a clean bug 'U got a nice car' and she said thanks. But yeh i agree that the newer drivers don't realise what they are driving. i think that most of them in West London are pompus gits and they are better then us driving older cars.
Bingo I used to wave at other dubbers when i was in the jetta all the time, only just realised why i've been getting funny looks lately..... in the vectra...
