    Hello

First off sorry for posting a non vag question but I'm needing a little help pricing up a repair.

I've got a Nissan S14 with an SR20DET engine that needs rebuilding due to oil starvation and need to price some basic parts but before that I need to know what to price.

At the moment on my list I've got:

    Pistons
    Rods
    Bearings
    Head Gasket
    Oil Pump
    Crankshaft
    Camshaft

Being a total noob at internals, what parts off that list will I almost certainly need to rebuild my engine?

Depends on the damage tbh. Usually oil starvation caused crank related problems rather than too end.
So if you're lucky you won't need pistons.

Crank bearings, headgasket, sump gasket etc, oil cooler, as expected, assuming it hasn't thrown a leg out of bed you might save the rods . Too end may just want a freshen up with valve stem seals, seats refaced . and piston rings.

Great thanks for a sigh of relief (for now)

Hopefully won’t need pistons as I can only buy forged parts and they’re £900 [:|]
